Intro to Fabrication - Week 02

Making five identical objects:


This time in the shop I felt much more comfortable with the miter saw and the bandsaw, as a part of my toy theme I made a simple wooden toy airplane, and then tried to make more identical versions of it. cannot say I succeed but I tried.



I used a thick block of wood following a shape I drew on it, saving the curves for the sanding machine.

After I got the right shape I sliced the block into 2 parts and then copied it to a different block outlining the shape with a pencil.


I did it untile I got 6 peices that kind of look alike:


Then I typed them together so I can sand them simultaneously and hopefully equally.


I also tried drilling holes in one of them but it made it crack :(
